For 2015, proceeds from Rescue Chocolate sales will go to Petfinder Foundation, which in turn will select a different partner rescue group each month as the recipient of a mini grant.
The mission of Petfinder Foundation is to insure that no adoptable pet is ever euthanized for lack of a good home. It has been doing just that since its founding in 2003, by inviting shelters and rescue groups to post their adoptable pets on Petfinder.com. This is the go-to website for anyone who is searching for a new furry friend.
In addition to this year’s mini grants made possible by Rescue Chocolate, Petfinder Foundation awards major grants in three main areas: Quality of Life, Disaster and Emergency Response, and Sponsor a Pet. It also facilitates the SNAP-X campaign which supports spay/neuter and adoption programs across the country.
Besides cash grants, Petfinder Foundation gives training, equipment, and supplies to adoption groups so that they can more effectively implement lifesaving strategies and decrease euthanasia rates.
